Bapai Bhattacharyya is born and brought up in a small village: Jirat(Balagarh), in Hooghly district of West Bengal, currently continuing his running practices in Tribeni as he is working there. He served in fighter squadrons (Mirage2000 & Jaguar aircraft) in Indian Air Force; participated in ‘Kargil War’ in 1999. Being an Ultra Marathoner, participated in many national and international races inside and outside of our country;

- Represented India in the world’s toughest-oldest Ultra-Race ‘Comrades Ultra Marathon 90Km’ in South Africa in June2023, won BRONZE medal.
- ‘Border Hell Ultra 100miles[161Km]’ Desert-Race in Rajasthan, finished in Dec’2022. {Set new Event Record by me as only/first Bengali & Kargil War Veteran(exIAF) to finish a 100miles race}
- ‘Khardungla Challenge 72Km’ world’s highest Ultra-Race in Ladakh, finished in Sep’2022
- ‘Ladakh Marathon 42Km’ FM-Race in Ladakh, finished in Sep’2022 {Set a National Record as done both these races back to back, first by an Kargil War Veteran (ex IAF) in India}
- ‘Tata Mumbai Marathon’, FM race finished in Jan’2020
- ‘Kolkata Trail Ultra 60Km’ Race, finished in Dec’2019
