Bupendra Hang Subba
Passion for running always existed but it came to fore just 4 years back. Bhupen is a finisher of Ironman 70.2 which was held at Goa in 2019 and 2022. His potential as a runner was unearthed after he joined Kolkata Road Runners in 2020. Sustained effort and persistence led to his maiden Full Marathon in Kolkata in 2020 and 65 KM Ultra Race “The Buddha Trail” in 2021 and 2022. Bhupen was also part of the Kolkata-Gangtok Dualthon team. The Dualthon team covered Kolkata-Siliguri on cycle followed by run from Siliguri to Gangtok covering a total distance of 725 KM. He has two podiums to his credit first being the runner up in 100 km Border Race held in Jaiselmer in 2021. Second is the AGEAS full marathon were he finished third in his age category with time of 3 hrs 17 min. He was part of Kolkata Gangtok Chase-2020. This was a relay race from Kolkata to Gangtok covering a distance of approximately 685 KM without any breaks by 11 runners. The team completed the challenge in 58 Hrs. He has also the credential of running from Gangtok to Gurudongbar in Sep 2022 along with 8 other runners. Gurudongbar is located in North Sikkim at an altitude of 5154 mtr above.
