Ingredients
Lentils | 30gm |
Water | 250ml |
Tomato (peeled and diced) | 50gm |
Onion (chopped finely) | 50gm |
Garlic | 1 clove |
Cumin powder | ½ tsp |
Pepper powder | As per taste |
Salt | As per taste |
Olive oil | 5ml |
Basil (crushed) | To garnish |

method of preparation
1. Heat olive oil in a large pan. Lightly sauté the onions until brown. Add garlic, tomatoes and lentils to the pan along with water. Bring to a boil, reduce the flame to medium-low and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the lentils become tender.
2. When the lentils become soft, use a blender to puree the soup. Season with cumin powder, salt and pepper.
3. Garnish with basil and grated paneer.
